Komodo Liveaboards

The Archipelago Adventurer expeditions expanded operations to dive Komodo at the request of divers who have been to this magical destination previously, but wanted to visit again in greater comfort than the previous Komodo liveaboards were able to offer.

As a destination directed towards people who like to dive, Komodo was probably the first to put the Indonesian experience in the focus of the dive industry. A trip to dive Komodo would have been a necessity for all dedicated dive travellers since the pastime became popular. Despite the rise of other destinations in Indonesia receiving more attention at this current time, the trips aboard Komodo liveaboards comfortably rival and perhpas even exceed anything to be found across the archipelago.

For those who dive Komodo, a vast array of marinelife is waiting to be found. From the possibility to observe countless huge Manta Rays, elegantly feeding close to shore, to the interesting critters hidden amongst the craggy outcrops, and then to the bursting nightdives with unique critters

It is not just the marine life which is diverse, the sites available to dive Komodo liveaboards also have great variety. In addition to the current swept pinnacles, walls and overhangs in the National Park, Komodo has some of the world's best black sand dive sites. The volcanic islands in the region even offer divers the opportunity to see bubbles emitted rising from the subterranean heat.

Dive Komodo, Come Prepared

For any level of divers, the opportunity to see interesting marine life exisits on every dive. Komodo has great variation in the diving to be found. For example, when Komodo liveaboards rest on a mooring in the southerly region, around Komodo's signature sites in Horseshoe Bay, Cannibal Rock and The Yellow Wall of Texas these close and accessible sites are infested with macro opportunties.

A word of caution for the adventurous souls intending to dive Komodo, particularly the southerly region; the water temperature can sometimes drop as low as 22 or even 20 degrees celsius, so please bring a 5 mm wetsuit and be prepared for the rich waters to reduce the visibility too. However, fear not, with adequate forward planning, thermal protection, the chance to dive Komodo aboard the Archipelago Komodo liveaboards, will create an incredible dive experience.
